Friday, November 5 | 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Two concurrent sessions will be held on Friday evening.
Session One:
Inter-Cooperative Commitee on Privilege & Oppression (ICCoPO)
ICCoPO is open to anyone interested in building NASCO's anti-oppression analysis and setting the strategic direction for creating healthy, acccessible cultures across all NASCO cooperatives and growing our movement. Visit the caucuses and working groups [0] page for more information.
Session Two:
Writing Our Way Home: Using Poetry and Prose to Map the Roots of Pain and Envision Routes to Transformation
River Fagan
Join us for a discussion and exploration of the power of writing to facilitate personal healing and social transformation. The workshop will present a framework for understanding the interconnections between oppression, trauma, silence and storytelling. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore their own experiences through writing and will be encouraged to connect their own life stories both to the underlying social dynamics that cause pain and to visions for change.
Intense, potentially triggering topics will be discussed in this workshop. Participants will be asked to take care of themselves and explore only as deeply as feels safe.
