Co-operative Internship and Experience Program

Fourteen young people will soon have an opportunity to work with co-operatives and credit unions across Ontario through the Co-operative Internship and Experience Program (CIEP).

As in past years, interns will be placed with host employers from co-operatives and credit unions across the province for a 26-week internship. Interns must be under 30 years old, have completed a university or college diploma and be out of school and be legally entitled to work in Canada. Host employers must be a co-op or credit union which is a member of the Ontario Co-operative Association (On Co-op).

The CIEP program, a partnership with Service Canada which began back in 2002, has been successful in matching up talented young individuals who are looking to begin their careers and to gain a meaningful work experience with hosts who are in need of assistance in completing special projects and tasks.

There are 14 positions available for the next intake and the deadline for applications is October 17, 2009. Application forms are available at www.ontario.coop/interns [1]. For more information, please contact Audrey Aczel at aaczel@ontario.coop [2].
