Web Producer and Training Coordinator
20 hrs/wk @ $15/hr
Workers Independent News is a dynamic, growing media organization committed to amplifying the voices of working people in the media. We are looking for 2 creative individuals to join our new Wisconsin-based project: Forward! News Network. The 2 new staff will work closely together to run the project. These positions are based in Madison, WI. Forward! News Network places community activists and working people at the center of community journalism, providing them the tools and technical support to produce high-quality, independent, community-centered news: the kind of news ignored by corporate media.
Responsibilities:
- Produce multimedia content weekly for website
- Manage social media strategy
- Work with Community Contributors statewide to produce stories about their communities, unions or workplaces
- Edit Community Contributor stories
- Work with training partners to design media training curriculum for Community Contributors
- Develop training materials
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience designing training curriculum and leading trainings
- Experience in audio and video production
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working independently
- Experience working in web management and social media
- A background in news journalism is a plus, but not necessary
