Racial Wealth Divide Initiative Leader (Part-Time)
Project Overview
Our Racial Wealth Divide Initiative draws upon the analysis that differences in wealth, not just income, are indicators of the persistent economic gap between whites and people of color. UFE spotlights racial inequality for public discussion through educational workshops and media work, debunks myths of wealth creation, facilitates community understanding and discussion, and points the way toward policy solutions. We keep racial economic inequality in the public eye, and build constituencies for policy changes to close the gap.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

Working with the Education Team, the Initiative Leader will conduct workshops, as well as design, revise, and update curricula for diverse audiences, and organize Training(s) of Trainers
- Partnerships and Policy Agenda: The Initiative Leader will work to cultivate and solidify the existing partnerships we have brokered as well as find new organizations across the country who are interested in an economic and policy approach to racial inequality. The Initiative Leader will be in contact with these networks and work to advance and disseminate our analysis.
- Media & Publication Efforts: Work with the Communications Team to publicize the roots of the racial wealth divide in government action/inaction and possible policy solutions in the mass media, and to help local grassroots organizations develop media strategies and spokespeople.
