Over the next month, take some time to fill out a short online survey from the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives, which may be accessed here.
The University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives is doing a census of all the cooperatives across the U.S., including housing cooperatives. The purpose of the project is to research the economic impact of cooperatives. As part of the census, we'll ask you some basic economic information about your coop. Then, a sample of housing cooperatives will be sent a slightly longer survey with more detailed questions.
Funding is being provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, the National Cooperative Business Association and its members, and the State of Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. In-kind support is also being provided by cooperative associations, the University of Wisconsin Center for Cooperatives and the Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There is currently no comprehensive set of national-level statistics on the cooperative sector in the United States. Be part of the census, and get counted!
