California Co-op Conference

Santa Rosa, CA
Fri, Apr 9th '10, 4:00am - Sat, Apr 10th '10, 4:00pm

The California Center for Cooperative Development (CCCD) invites you to join them on April 9 & 10 for CCCD's Second Annual California Co-op Conference!!! The conference will be held at the Glaser Center in Santa Rosa, California. This year’s conference focuses on job creation and building community-based economies to strengthen communities, create wealth, and transform lives.

The keynote speaker is Jim Anderson from the Ohio Employee Ownership Center. Jim will share information about Evergreen Cooperative---an innovative project that links private businesses with cooperatively owned enterprises (see http://blip.tv/file/2749165). The conference will include panels and workshops about California-based projects that effectively use the cooperative model to create jobs, housing, community food systems, and local-based services that build community wealth. Workshops will also provide information on how to start and sustain healthy cooperative businesses.

As our nation undergoes great transitions and economic challenges, it is essential to examine innovative strategies that generate true grassroots change. Cooperatives offer models of responsive, adaptable enterprises that embrace self-help fundamentals for sustainable economic development in California. Join us for this important event.
