Who Can Be A Member?
NASCO membership is not just for co-ops. It's for everyone who cares about co-ops and their communities. As students of cooperation, NASCO members are committed to cooperative education and learning how to improve communities using cooperative values. NASCO focuses on campus-based, group-equity housing cooperatives, but provides support, education and training to co-ops of all types.
Says one NASCO Active Member Co-op:
SCHA Board Retreat"We used to be full fledged members several years ago, but stopped paying dues when we fell on hard financial times. But ceasing to be a member didn't help us any -- in fact, we realized, we found that we were really missing out on the board member training and other co-op related educational experiences that NASCO used to help us out with. We need it again -- the last generation of co-opers who had training from NASCO have left, and there is a new generation who are ready to take the reins and need some of NASCO's special workshopping magic!..."
