General Job Description

Founded in 1933, the Berkeley Student Cooperative (BSC) is the largest student-governed nonprofit housing cooperative in the country, providing affordable housing to over 1,260 students. With tuition costs on the rise, the case for affordable, cooperative housing for college students has never been greater. The BSC seeks to hire a highly capable and inspirational development professional, with a proven track record of success in the areas of major gifts, events, and annual appeals, to lead a new and urgent charge to generate funds for housing scholarships. In addition, the position will support the Alumni Association's drive to win a $7 million capital campaign for critical seismic upgrades to the BSC's 20 residential properties surrounding the UC Berkeley campus. The successful candidate will motivate and coordinate the efforts of a dedicated and diverse group of Alumni Association leaders within a larger organizational culture that values student leadership and cooperative decision-making.

This is a full time exempt position, with a starting salary range of $54,030 - $76,012 with the potential for merit increases and/or bonuses and an annual cost-of-living adjustment. Benefits include paid health and dental insurance for employees and dependents; paid sick leave, vacation and holidays. Progressive office culture.
