NASCO is hiring!

Spring Board Update from NASCO Properties

The NASCO Properties board met last month in Athens, OH, location of two Student Cooperative Organization houses. Fifteen cooperators representing 11 organizations shared insights and troubles from their co-ops, and visited the members of The Vine and Firehouse. Read more here.

City of Montréal gives $500,000 to Student Co-op

Talks between UTILE and the city have been going on for almost four years, but the city of Montreal is officially putting $500,000 toward Concordia Student Union's Cooperative Housing Project. Read the full story here.

Jam House - Minneapolis, MN

"Jam House is a six-member housing cooperative in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, MN, primarily occupied by folks identifying as queer and/or trans. In addition to food-sharing as a foundational value, we also put significant effort into hospitality, opening our home to friends to share meals with, hosting overnights guests, and offering our communal spaces to local artists, healers, and organizers."

Workshop Kit: "Cooperative Principles and Values"

The workshop is intended to promote a deeper understanding of cooperative foundations, principles and values.
 

Workshop Kit: "Dismantling Rape Culture"

This workshop is intended to help explain rape culture and elements of patriarchy, develop language that helps us all handle situations where these issues arise, make our community more inclusive and safe through providing tools and language for community members, and build capacity and confidence to have healthy relationships and communication.

WestCo 2017

WestCo, an annual conference for members of cooperatives in the Western United States and Canada, will be held this year in Davis, CA from April 14-16th. WestCo is a space for local cooperators to build community and attend educational workshops and social events.
 

NASCO's Staff and Managers Conference 2017

Designed to meet the needs of staff and managers of campus-based housing co-ops, this year's Staff & Managers Conference will be held in Montréal, Québec on May 23-24th.
