Finance Coordinator for Madison Community Cooperative 

MCC is a 501(c)3 non-profit housing cooperative with 11 houses in downtown Madison, governed by its 200 member-residents. The Finance Coordinator works cooperatively with MCC’s Finance Officer and Finance Committee, and individual members to advance Madison Community Cooperative’s mission to “Improve the Madison community by providing low-cost, not-for-profit cooperative housing for very low- to moderate-income people and to be inclusive of underrepresented and marginalized groups”. The Finance Coordinator is responsible for bookkeeping (AR/AP), payroll, financial reporting, and supports MCC Members and houses with budgeting, house bookkeeping, security deposits, rental assistance, and payment plans.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in accounting

  • 2 years’ experience 

  • Willingness to learn Appfolio bookkeeping and property management software

  • Willingness to work with a diverse population of cooperative members


Job Duties

  • Bookkeeping (using Appfolio)

  • Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable

  • Payroll preparation

  • Officer, Committee, House, and Member support

  • General office duties

  • Maintain regular office hours and coordinate time off with supervisors and staff

  • Attend monthly committee meetings (Wednesdays at 6:30pm)

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full time at 35 hours per week 

  • Starting pay $18-20/hour depending on qualifications

  • Health insurance stipend
