In this season of giving, we invite you to Resource Cooperative Advocacy.
This year NASCO was able to support a lobbying trip to Washington DC to advocate for cooperatives. We've also worked with member and non-member co-ops to explore current and emerging threats to housing co-ops and share our collective self-defense strategies. With continual challenges in housing affordability and access, co-ops are essential to the solution. It's critical that we continue upholding & expanding the co-op movement together.
Our cooperatives provide a safe haven for college students facing exploitative housing options and support non-student members from marginalized identities who need access to affordable group-equity housing amidst the broader housing crisis.
Your gift allows us to:
- Fulfill cooperatives' high demand for educational trainings
- Uplift co-op voices by resourcing our co-op storytelling initiative
- Engage co-opers in our Defend and Unite Co-op Solidarity Planning sessions and create a database of helpful resources
- Support future lobbying efforts
- Continue providing critical support to housing co-ops, ensuring their stability and long-term success
