NASCO, Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Alliance (AORTA), and Ann Arbor Inter Cooperative Council (ICCAA) invite you to join us on Tuesday, July 29 for a facilitated conversation with AORTA’s Marc Swan, to strategize, share stories, and ground ourselves in collective resistance.
Cooperative housing and the broader co-op sector are rooted in collective ownership, mutual aid, and democratic control—values that run counter to dominant capitalist and individualist ideologies. As right-wing forces consolidate power, these values are increasingly framed as dangerous or ‘un-American’. Co-ops may face (or have already have been facing) a wave of both overt and indirect attacks.
In this two-hour session, we will explore current and emerging threats, with examples, and share our collective self-defense strategies.
We look forward to sharing space, and working toward better protecting ourselves and our communities.
