The Michigan State University Student Housing Cooperative (MSU SHC) is a not-for-profit organization providing a low-cost housing option for students at MSU and surrounding schools. There are up to 230 members in 15 houses across the East Lansing area. Houses vary from five to 29 members, each with their own character and history.

Internship Position Title: 
Membership Services Intern
Internship Position Duties: 
Intern will coordinate the design and distribution of a New Member Orientation manual and training materials, and lead overhaul of the Interim process between 2015-16 and 2016-17 membership contracts (in the last week of August), including ensuring that all members are provided with satisfactory housing conditions and promised furniture (bed, desk, chair, and dresser). Intern will also provide misc. administrative assistance to office. There are opportunities for this position to expand into Member Education on social justice, consent, communication, mediation, and anti-oppression if the experience and/or drive exists.
Position Training: 
Current interim and member infill processes, policy governance principles, office protocols, etc. Opportunities to attend regional cooperative seminars/events

Compensation ($): 
$300 (monthly)
