Hello, NASCO Members! My name is Ratih Sutrisno and I am NASCO’s new Director of Community Engagement. This is a new position at NASCO connecting the organization and its members to social justice and anti-oppression work both inside and outside the cooperative movement. I will be managing public media platforms, coordinating the Alumni Network of former NASCO co-op members, and organizing grassroots funding campaigns to build and maintain relationships with co-op members and movement partners.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management with minors in Interdisciplinary Design and French. For the past year, I have been working as a student advisor at the Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs (HECUA), promoting experiential off-campus and study abroad programs focusing on justice, social change, and imaginative approaches to difficult problems. I have been a member of the Students’ Co-op in Minneapolis for three years. This past summer I participated in NASCO’s Cooperative Internship Network working with the University of Kansas Student Housing Association (UKSHA) in Lawrence, KS as their Cooperative Design Intern. Through this experience, I refined my design skills while creating educational and marketing materials that advocate community solidarity. Some of my other passions include playing ultimate, cooking, and biking to great coffee shops.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!
