This session will provide a look into the history, organizational structure and cooperative management model of CSI Support & Development, a national non-profit organization that provides affordable housing communities for seniors.
Founded in 1945, CSI cooperatively manages 65 affordable rental communities with over 7,000 housing units in four states. CSI’s unique cooperative management model engages resident-membership in decision-making and provides opportunities to build community through volunteering. CSI staff members Pete Steffy and Roland Pascua will discuss how the organization supports its members and staff, and how the cooperative management model may offer applications to other types of co-ops.
